What types of photography packages do you offer? Our signature package is the in-depth 2-hour Styled Photo Shoot which is perfect for those seeking to capture tasteful, unique, and timeless studio portraits. Additionally, we offer the 1-hour Photo Shoot, the Headshot Mini Session, and starting in 2020 SO ATELIER will be offering Subscription Photography for entrepreneurs to create content, update headshots, event coverage, and product photography.
How far in advance should I book my photo shoot? I always recommend that you book at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance of when you think you’ll need your photos, just to avoid disappointment. Of course, if you’ve got a rush deadline, please feel free to get in touch and we can see if there’s a way to shimmy you into the schedule.
What do I need to bring to my styled shoot? All you really need to bring is your outfits, accessories, and your lovely self! We generally recommend you bring 5 outfits to your 2 Hour Styled Photo Shoot, 3 for the 1-hour Photo Shoot, and 2 for the Mini Session. Depending on what package you book, you will receive instructions in preparation for your Shoot.
How long will my photo shoot take? If you book the 2-hour Styled Photo Shoot we will have 2 hours to play with outfits, posing, props, and so on. The 1-hour Photo Shoot gives us 1 hour, and The Headshot Mini Session is 30 minutes long. If you signup for the Subscription Photography membership the length of your shoot will depend on whether you redeem your 30-minute sessions individually or jointly (up to 10 hours) depending on how many sessions you have accrued.
Do you cover makeup and hairstyling? Makeup and hair can be included upon request at an additional charge. But I always retouch skin imperfections in post-production, but you might want to be mindful of your hair styling since it does not edit effectively.
Do I bring my own outfits to the shoot? You’re responsible for bringing your own outfits to your photo shoot. Do you feel like you don’t have anything to wear? Don’t worry! I am are here to offer all the feedback, guidance, and support you need, because I know just how stressful it can be to figure out what to wear (and what not to wear). Also, I can’t tell you how many times I hear from my clients that they don’t have anything, but we always find some cool pieces hidden in their closet (the 2-hour Styled shoot includes a 30-minute styling video call during which we plan about 5 complete outfits). If you want to take it up a notch and you have a very specific look in mind feel free to purchase outfits. But if you don’t have the time I am a firm believer in the beauty of simplicity, and I am sure we can find something fitting in your outfits.
How many “looks” or wardrobe changes do I get? Typically we capture up to 1 to 2 looks during your headshot session and about 2 to 3 in your 1 Hour Photo Shoot, and 4 to 5 with the 2-hour Styled Photoshoot. These numbers are “estimates” I do my best to give you as much variety as possible during your shoot.
Can I have my pictures taken on location or outdoors? Yes, we can discuss alternative locations for your shoot during the planning stage. Whether you’re interested in having your photos at your office, co-working place, at a local coffee shop, or in your kitchen! The goal is always to give you portraits that represent your brand authentically. In fact, sometimes I offer a $50 discount on packages for shoots that don’t require a studio space (this does not include packages already on sale).
How many images do I get? For the 2-hour Styled Photo Shoot, branding, and all-inclusive packages, you get 20 edited images in both color and B&W versions. For the 1-hour Photo Shoot, you get 10 edited images, and for The Headshot Mini Session, you get 5 images included in your package. Of course, sometimes it’s hard to choose when you get your photos back and you love so many of them! When that’s the case, I offer $15 per additional image purchased. I do not provide unedited images!
What’s your cancellation policy? SO ATELIER takes a non-refundable deposit in advance and we are happy to reschedule photo shoots if you provide at least 48-hour notice.
Can I get a refund? Because of the intense labor and time we typically reserve and put in for prepping, shooting, and editing I am unable to offer refunds. The good news is: I’ve never been asked for a refund because I’m absolutely committed to getting you the photographs you want during our time together.
How do I pay for my photo session? I accept cash, cheques, e-transfers, Venmo, or PayPal payments. Alternatively, you can purchase the package online here.
How soon after the shoot do I get my online proofs? Approximately one week or less.
How soon after the shoot do I get my final, retouched images? Approximately two to three weeks, but the sooner you select your favorites the summer the turnaround will be.
