I am so honored to have had Sarah from Ignite Collective as my first Weaver, she embodies everything I envision in a Weaver of community. Sarah arrived with an orchid plant in one hand and treats on the other, relaying that in Korean culture when you come to someone’s home for the first time it’s customary to bring something.
During our meeting we enjoyed jasmine tea and treats, over an honest conversation about each other’s life paths. What most stuck with me after this Weaver meeting relates to the concept of “life-balance” and the fact that no matter the stage you are in, the sea of life always brings challenging and unforeseen circumstances.
“Rather than seeing balance as a place we aim to arrive, adopt it as an ongoing practice.”
Thus when life knocks us off our raft instead of getting lost in the waters of despair, we must swim back to our raft. The main thing is to get back on it, continue working on our balancing skills and prepare for future storms and adventures. I would like to take it a step further and suggest that even as we get shaken or knocked off, ideally we can also learn to navigate life with joy and thrive while at it!
